Coming to Steam - June 2027

Sich: Cossacks TaleA Cossack colony city-builder

Lead a band of settlers onto the wild steppe of 18th-century Ukraine. Start from a small stockpile, keep your people fed and warm, hunt the forests and grow a lone homestead into a fortified Cossack Sich.

Life on the Cossack frontier

In the 1700s the Zaporizhzhian Cossacks kept their free fortress-camp, the Sich, on the islands beyond the rapids of the Dnipro. Farmers, hunters and runaways made a life there on the edge of empires.

Sich: Cossacks Tale - puts you in charge of one such settlement. Every villager has needs, a job and a life of their own, every map is a new stretch of forest and steppe, and every winter is a test.

From rags to a village

Raise khatas, a well, a stockhouse and huts for woodcutters, gatherers and hunters. Every map is generated fresh, with its own forests, berries and mushrooms.

Hunting on the steppe

Deer herds and wild boar roam the land. Hunters carry the kill home, and you decide how many animals to spare so the herds recover.

Questions and answers

What is Sich: Cossacks Tale?

A colony survival city-builder and strategy game set among the Zaporizhzhian Cossacks of 18th-century Ukraine. You lead a band of settlers from a small stockpile to a fortified Sich: raise khatas and workshops, keep every villager fed and warm, hunt the forests and steppe, and defend the settlement from raids.

When and where can I play it?

Sich is coming to PC on Steam. A free demo is planned for Steam Next Fest in June 2027, and the Early Access launch for autumn 2027. The Steam store page is coming soon, so you can wishlist it.

How does it compare to other city builders?

If you enjoy colony and survival city builders, Sich will feel familiar: villagers with needs and jobs, seasons to survive and a settlement that grows from a few huts. What sets it apart is the setting, the Cossack frontier on the Dnipro steppe, with musket hunting, Rada councils and Tatar raids. Rather than ruling an empire, you guide one settlement up close.

Is Sich a cozy game?

In parts. Building and village life are calm and relaxed, but harsh winters and raids add real stakes. Difficulty settings are planned for Early Access.

Where and when is the game set?

On the steppe of the Zaporizhzhian Cossacks in 18th-century Ukraine, near the Sich, the Cossacks’ free fortress-camp on the islands beyond the rapids of the Dnipro.

Which languages will it support?

English, Ukrainian, Spanish, French and Portuguese are planned for the Early Access launch.
